May 11 - Cut Fruit

Katie is a software engineer whose many interests include gaming, singing, baking, crocheting, kpop, raving, and now crosswords! She is excited to be making her constructor debut in such a special project. Love and gratitude to my friends and family.

Beyond the theme entries being of API origin (as the included fruits are), I wanted the puzzle theme to draw from a shared experience. The idea originally came from [APPLE] being a homonym for “sorry” in Korean (사과), but in my life, cut fruit has been more of an act of love and sacrifice (my mom still nibbles on the mango pits and ugly apple slices). Thank you to Alina Abidi for introducing me to Alisya and this project, and for helping me figure out where to cut the fruits :)
